18 years ago David founded BusinessHive with the single idea of helping others in business. David has provided helped to a wide range of industries, brands and businesses. David conceived, designed and developed the worlds first stored-value prepaid card and gift card, and was awarded two patents for the technology. He has worked on many other intellectual property development efforts, company and market turnarounds, new product development and launch projects as well. David has hands on experiences running businesses, starting businesses and shutting them down as well. He has lead teams from a few to hundreds, along with working solely on his own.
Most recently, David was brought in by Steve Maritz to founded, launch and run as president Affinity Center International (ACI), the newest Maritz business. David Carrithers held full P&L responsibility along with providing strategic direction and priority setting, team development, board development, business focus and creative leadership. ACI is developing loyalty coalition marketing programs based on people’s professions helping associations engage their members building improved loyalty. David established the business in record time and launched on time and on budget.
David is active in the community, volunteering with the Embry Rucker Community Shelter, Cyprus Peace Program, The Carpenters Shelter. He serves on the boards of a variety of associations including the Alliance for Construction Excellence at Arizona State University, in addition he reestablished, launched and was the Chairman of the Center for Job Order Contracting Excellence, the Share The Dream Foundation. He recently founded The International Fresh Juice Association a 501(c)3 focused on bringing the fresh juice industry together to develop standards, share best practices and educate on the benefits of fresh juice. David is also active with ASAE – The Center for Association Leadership.
David has presented at a wide range of conferences, written and been published in hundreds of magazines, trade and technical publications. David holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from Loyola University. In addition, David has certificates from Wharton Business School, Harvard Business School, Kellogg Business School, Ross Business School, The Brookings Institute, The Disney Institute and others in a variety of areas including change management, new product development, and strategic planning. Currently he completed his Beekeeping training.
